Also, on another note, you may have realized some issues if you have done any Target gift card deals lately… including the Glade Holiday gift card deal. Kerry over at Totally Target calls it “The $10 Invisible Manufacturer Coupon Gift Card Deal Glitch”. You see, when items prompting for a Gift Card are scanned, the register automatically applies what seems to be a $10 manufacturer coupon to your transaction. This does NOT give you an additional $10 discount– it just makes it look like your merchandise value is a lot lower than what it actually is which in turn means that you cannot use as many manufacturers coupons. So basically your total transaction value AFTER the $10 glitch must be at or above the total amount of manufacturer’s coupons you will be using. Confusing, I know!
Note: You will most likely encounter this problem only if you are doing a gift card deal and not purchasing additional items. If you are shopping at Target and purchasing more than a few things or even grocery shopping, then you shouldn’t have any issue since you will probably be purchasing items that will be higher in value than all the coupons used in your transaction.
Example:
Buy 5 Select Glade Holiday Air Care Items = $5 Target gift card
Buy 5 Glass Candle Holders = $14.95
MINUS the $10 invisible Coupon = $4.95 (even though your total really is $14.95)
Use 5 $1/1 coupons from the 10/3 SS (and the register will beep on the last coupon)
**The register will beep due to the fact that you are trying to deduct $5 worth of coupons and the register *thinks* that the value of your items is $4.95– not $14.95.
My suggestion at this point, is to make sure you’re purchasing a few additional items to help take care of any coupon overage that may occur. Hopefully Target will get this very frustrating issue dealt with soon.
First, coupons not being deducted properly and now this. I’m just not sure what to think anymore.
(Thanks for the heads up on this issue, Totally Target!)
